Orientation
Welcome to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø
Orientation is the time when we celebrate you joining our community! Every incoming undergraduate student attends Orientation as an onboarding to their ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø experience. This is just the beginning of making lifelong friends, learning the resources you’ll use daily to be a successful student, and understand what it truly means to be an ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Eagle.
The Orientation Leadership Team and the entire ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø community welcomes, supports, and empowers new students and families during this meaningful transition. By providing programs and coordinating strategic services that meet the diverse and individualized needs of incoming students, we promote student success and persistence by offering educational opportunities that build community and facilitate personal growth.

Welcome Week:
Welcome Week events serve as part of Orientation to provide a concentrated effort for new Eagles and return Eagles to make and strengthen connections, learn about ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø, and to have a warm welcome (back, for some) to the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø community!

Some Words of Welcome

Dear Incoming Eagle,
We are so excited that you are joining the Eagle family! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to both teach and learn from you. ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is truly a community of engaged learners, invested in making positive change in the world. Making the choice to study at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø is making the choice to connect your learning, beliefs, and actions in order to create a more just and compassionate world. This journey begins with Orientation, develops throughout your college career, and will undoubtedly continue beyond graduation. We can’t wait to meet you soon!
Sincerely,
Your Student Involvement Leadership Team

Hello Incoming Eagles,
I am delighted to welcome you to the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø family!
My name is Emily Nunn, and I am a student employee in the Office of Student Involvement, or OSI. OSI leads orientation and campus events as well as supportsÌýstudent organizations like Student Senate. When I first came to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø, I was nervous about how to make friends, get involved, and how to makeÌýthe most of my time here. This is a feeling that some of you may resonate with, but I encourage you to put yourself out there in one way each day!Ìý Our campus also has many resources such as the Learning Lab and Wellness Center. Take advantage of them since they are here to help you succeed. I can confidently say that ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø helped me get out of my shell and grow both academically and personally.
It’s our mission to ensure that every student feels a sense of belonging, finds their place within our community, and has fun while at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø. Campus events are great ways for you to meet like-minded individuals, participate in fun events, andÌýmake the most out of your university experience. So, do your best to win some prizes at bingo, join a club that aligns with your passions, or find a job on campus.
We are so excited to see you soar as an ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Eagle and can’t wait to see where your flight takes you!
Best,
Emily Nunn
